Write Your Future: Crafting a Life Plan Story That Manifests Your Dreams
Imagine this: it’s five years from now, and you’re waking up to your dream life. The sunlight filters through the windows of your dream home, and as you sip your morning coffee, you pause to reflect on the incredible journey that brought you here. This isn’t just wishful thinking—it’s the manifestation of your Life Plan Story, a diary entry written as if you’re already living the life you’ve always envisioned.
This is a homework assingment I give all my coaching clients, because it’s one that has manifested for me year after year, delivering the most magincal outcomes. (See one of my personal past LifePlan Stories as an example).
Why Write a Life Plan Story?
A Life Plan Story is more than just a vision board in words; it’s an immersive experience that invites you to step into the life you want to create. By writing it in the present tense, you align your mind and emotions with the reality you’re building, tapping into the magic of manifesting.
This exercise isn’t just about dreaming—it’s about believing in and setting the stage for your future success.
How to Write Your Life Plan Story
Here’s a step-by-step guide to crafting your Life Plan Story:
1. Set It Five Years in the Future
Picture yourself five years from now. What year is it? How old are you? If you have children or want them, how old are they? Visualize every detail as if it’s your current reality.
For instance:
"It’s 2030, and I’m 42 years old. My daughter, Ella, is turning 10 next month, and my son, Max, just started high school. Life feels beautifully full as we sit on the patio of our beachfront home, watching the waves roll in."
2. Write in the First Person
Describe your life as if you’re living it right now. Step into the emotions and experiences of that perfect day. What does it feel like? What smells, sounds, and sights surround you?
For example:
"I glance around the villa we’re staying in—olive groves stretching to the horizon, the warm scent of jasmine in the air. My partner and I clink glasses of Prosecco, smiling at the joy and ease of this life we’ve built together."
3. Include All Five Core Areas of Life
To ensure your story is holistic, touch on these five core areas:
Relationships: Celebrate deep connections with family, friends, and loved ones.
Career & Ambitions: Reflect on professional achievements and the fulfillment you feel in your work.
Passions & Joy: Highlight hobbies, adventures, and the activities that bring you joy.
Mind & Body: Describe your physical and mental well-being.
Wealth & Abundance: Emphasize financial security and how it supports your dreams.
"This morning, I wrapped up a meeting with my global team. It’s fulfilling to see my company thrive, empowering thousands of people worldwide. Later, I’ll head to my private yoga studio to unwind before dinner with friends who’ve become family."
4. Be Specific and Descriptive
Paint vivid pictures with your words. Let your imagination run wild—describe the colors, textures, and emotions that fill your world. The more detailed your story, the more real it becomes.
"Our home is everything I dreamed of—a spacious kitchen filled with natural light, the kids’ laughter echoing from the pool outside. In the evenings, we gather around the firepit, sharing stories under a canopy of stars."
5. Go Big
Push yourself to dream without limits. What’s the grandest version of your life? It’s okay if it feels almost impossible—manifesting starts with daring to believe in the extraordinary.
"As I walk onto the set of my TV show—now in its second season—I feel a wave of gratitude. This dream felt so far away once, but now it’s a reality. Later this year, we’ll launch our foundation, supporting women entrepreneurs around the world."
The Magic of Manifestation
Writing a LifePlan Story isn’t just about dreaming; it’s about embodying the belief that your vision can—and will—become your reality. By putting your dreams into words, you send a powerful signal to yourself and the universe: I am ready to create this life.
So grab a journal, carve out some quiet time, and let yourself dream big. The future you envision is waiting for you to claim it.

I love this. I do something similar, which I call the future focus exercise. I love what you said about it being like a vision board, but writing. I remember a lady contacting me when I was a fairly new coach. She'd been told if she wanted to manifest what she wanted, she MUST create a vision board. She wasn't a visual person, but she liked writing. I gave her this exercise and told her she didn't need to create a vision board.
Ooh dreaming 💭 my favourite pastime 😅
That was a fun and very interesting experiment… I don’t want to wish my life away, but I can’t wait to look back on what I’ve written 5 years from now 💖
